Foodbanks get tasty donations
Idlewells Shopping Centre, in Sutton, has donated the money to St Mary Magdalene Parish Church and Zion Baptist Church, in Sutton, along with Selston Church of Christ, St John’s Church, Annesley Woodhouse, and Under One Roof, in Hucknall.
The money will be spent on food for their community foodbank services, which currently all operate with increasing demand.

Hide AdChloe O’Donnell, Assistant Manager for Idlewells, said: “Many people are familiar with the term foodbank, but not many know how they actually work.
“We hope that by donating to foodbanks we can help provide more food, but also raise awareness of foodbanks in the area.”
Foodbanks are available for families and individuals who are in need of extra food to supplement their weekly shop.
They provide bags of tinned foods - including tinned meat, fruit, vegetables and fish.

Hide AdMaureen Goodman, of St Mary’s, Sutton, said: “The support of local people is wonderful - but we’re always looking for more donations of tinned foods to ensure no family goes without.
““We would urge more people to donate tins of food - even one can make a big difference.”
If you would like to donate any of these items for local families, Idlewells’ foodbank collection point can be found opposite its Specsavers store main entrance.
