Former apprentices have been awarded at their graduation ceremony

Three former apprentices who started their employment journey at Ashfield District Council have been awarded their NVQ Level 2 Business Administration qualifications.

Bek Daft, now an apprentice at Mansfield District Council, Alex Bonser, a former Ashfield apprentice now employed by Ashfield District Council and Amy Beeston, currently an apprentice at Mansfield District Council attended an awards ceremony at Nottingham’s Albert Hall.

Carol Cooper-Smith, Ashfield’s Interim Director for Economy, said: “It’s always good to see young people doing well, and seeing them being rewarded for their dedication and hard work really makes me very proud.

“Apprenticeships are an essential way of supporting young people in our organisation and the wider business community.

“Ashfield District Council offers grants to businesses to encourage them to recruit apprentices into the workplace.

“We’re committed to ensuring that young people with high level skills are encouraged to remain in the district, seek local employment, start up their own business or take up graduate and undergraduate programmes.”
