Group member Valerie Wakeling said: “It was brilliant. Absolutely superb. We had beautiful weather. Lots and lots of stalls and superb entertainment. It was a really, really good day.”

One of the highlights of the day was Jeff the sheep from Brinsley Animal Rescue, who was led around the field on a lead.

“He was quite a character and he was so popular with the children. He was brilliant,” said Valerie.

There was archery, plenty of games for the kids, jewellery stalls, cake stalls, a group firefighters and local charities raising awareness of the work they do.

“To go round everything would have been impossible there was that much there,” added Valerie.

The Friends of Brinsley Headstocks raise money throughout the year to put the event on.
