King’s Mill Hospital to hold baby bereavement memorial service

King’s Mill Hospital is holding a special service for mums, dads, grandparents, siblings and friends who have suffered the loss of a baby.

Whether it is a recent bereavement or happened many years ago, the memorial service is a commemoration of babies who have passed away, as a result of miscarriage, stillbirth or any other cause.

Sherwood Forest Hospitals Trust Chaplain Edith Dawson, who is part of the team who have organised the service, said: “The aim of our service is to acknowledge how deep and profound the loss of a child can be and offer support, encouragement and hope.

“Time does not always heal the pain of loss but we hope this service will give people the opportunity to stand with other people who know the pain of losing a child.

“If you need to say goodbye to a baby or to grieve, or you want to come along with a friend who needs to say goodbye, please join us for this special service or remembrance.”

The service, led by the Chaplaincy Team, will take place in the Faith Centre at King’s Mill Hospital on 17th July 2014 at 7pm.
