Knocked out man who was seen with ex-girlfriend

David Fogg (25), of Linby Road, admitted assaulting Kirk Catton, causing him actual bodily harm.

Fogg punched him and delivered at least one kick, probably a stamp as an impression was left, said Jeremy James, prosecuting at Nottingham Crown Court.

"He was knocked out and came round in hospital," said Mr James. "Mercifully the injuries were modest." They included a black eye and swelling.

The court was told Fogg had been given a 27-month prison sentence for assault in 2007. He had now been in custody on remand since September 19 last year. He was currently serving a sentence for another matter and would not finish it until March.

The judge adjourned the current case until March 9 when he intended to pass a suspended sentence.
