Members also brought surplus plants for sale to help raise funds for Lapwings WI and Kay Brown, from Bestwood Village WI spoke about being a representative at the Annual Meeting and voting on the Resolution, which this year was on Organ Donation, after listening to interesting speakers.

The next meeting of Lapwings WI will be the Official Formation of this new and unique group to be held on Thursday 26th June at Papplewick Village Hall at 7.30 p.m.

The event will be attended by the County Chairman Jane Jefferson and representatives from Leenside WI and Bestwood Village WI and following the signing of the adoption papers members will enjoy a party.

Lapwings is unique in meeting twice a month rather than the usual once. Members are able to choose between a morning session from 10am-12 noon, on the second Tuesday of each month or an evening session, 7.30-9.30pm on the fourth Thursday or of course go to both.

This gives all ladies the opportunity to attend, whether working or not and new members are most welcome.
