Man (39) on murder charge

Wayne Briscoe (39), of Harewood Avenue, is accused of killing Simon Luffman, who was found dead on a canal towpath near Coventry Lane, Bramcote in October 2003.

Briscoe is jointly charged with the ex-wife of the victim, Yvette Luffman, of Boston, Lincolnshire, who is also the former girlfriend of Briscoe.

Both the accused denied the charge during a short hearing at Nottingham Crown Court.

They were remanded in custody and the case was adjourned for trial next January.

In 2004, doorman Thomas Convery was jailed for a minimum of 20 years for the murder of Mr Luffman (39), of Boston.
