Sarah Moore, head of the school, said: “I can genuinely say it is an absolute privilege to work at Oak Tree School and to be part of an amazing team.

“The most impressive aspect of the Ofsted report is that it clearly acknowledges and celebrates how special our children are and how well they do. They are truly awesome.”

A special mention was made to year two pupil, Owen (pictured above), in the report for his work.

The report said: “A wave of improvement is flowing through the school.

“Pupils are making good progress in lessons, and this is reflected in their workbooks and in the attractive wall displays.

“The school records and analyses pupils’ progress in considerable detail, and this shows that pupils currently at the school made good progress in reading, writing and mathematics last year.”

The report outlines that the school has made particularly good progress over the last two years.

Mrs Moore added: “The inspectors were impressed with what they heard about the changes within school, particularly over the last two years.

“They were particularly impressed with the exciting curriculum and mentioned the Dragon Egg discovery in school that initiated many speaking, listening, writing and art activities.

“This school definitely has the ‘wow factor’ and we will continue with enthusiasm and energy to ensure all the children achieve their personal success.”
