More children have been offered their top school pick
Nearly 300 more Nottinghamshire children than last year have been offered their parents first preference secondary school, 93.2 per cent, for September 2017 which is 7,804 students out of a total of 8,374.
Nottinghamshire County Council committee chairman for children and young people’s services, Councillor John Peck, said: “As the cohort of children needing a place at secondary school continues to rise, we are particularly pleased that the number of Nottinghamshire residents securing a place at their first preference school has increased compared with last year. We’re, of course, determined to keep improving on these figures in years to come.
“This includes continuing our work to encourage parents to use all four of their preferences rather than only making one.”
