More sales shoppers in Sutton

Retailers in Sutton’s Idlewells Shopping Centre were given an extra Christmas present this year - with the number of shoppers hunting bargains on Boxing Day up four per cent compared to 2012.

Centre manager Andrew Wraight said this rounded off an excellent festive season.

He said: “Our systems recording an increase in visitors of over four per cent.

“We had queues of shoppers from 9am, with the sale bargains at New Look, JD Sport and Argos seemingly at the top of the list.

“Many retailers also reported strong sales in the run-up to Christmas.

“The number of shoppers using our car park was also up and we’re confident that our customers will continue to take advantage of the fantastic line-up of sales that are now on offer, including B&M Bargains, Peacocks and Bonmarche.”
