Three members of the team at the Derby Road store in Eastwood shaved their heads for Macmillan, in honour of friends and colleagues that have lost to cancer.

Community Champion Samantha Papworth said: "We have colleagues who have suffered with cancer and those that are fighting the battle. As this now seems to be getting more common we felt that we would like to do something to show our support for those that lives it has affected."

Christine Craig, 51, who took part in the charity sheering, said she wanted to take part in the event as cancer affects her own family greatly and her own daughter, 26, is battling leukemia.

She said: "Macmillan helps everyone involved, It supports the family. They did brilliantly when my daughters grandad died. They need all the money they can get to carry on doing great work!"

Michael Dilley, 24, who also had his proud head of hair taken to raise money, said he lost both his aunt and uncle to cancer.

He said: "A lot of my heroes, people I respect and love have lost their lives to Cancer, but some have also battled Cancer and won. I want my friends and heroes to know i stand with them in their battle against Cancer."

And another colleague, Andrew Kennedy, 32, said her partner's father died of cancer six months ago so he feels strongly about taking part in this event.

He added: "Macmillan do not get paid enough in my eyes. So anything we can do to support and raise money is a good thing."
