The service, which was held at Watnall Road Baptist Church, was presented by Jan Lees, the community champion at the Tesco Extra superstore. The idea behind it was to mark the good work done by unsung heroes within Hucknall.

Guests included the Deputy Lord Lieutenant of Nottinghamshire, Richard Bullock, Mustapha Rajabali, from the mosque, and Captain Gaynor Ward, of the Salvation Army. The service was followed by a buffet.
