New jewellers will bring ten new town jobs

A new jewellers in Mansfield’s Four Seasons Shopping Centre is to create ten new jobs in the town.

The new Pandora store will be run by franchisees Martin Wilkinson - a Jewellers established in Mansfield for more than 200 years.

Andrew Campin, Managing Director of Martin Wilkinson Jewellers, said: “I am delighted to have been given the opportunity to operate the new Pandora store.

“I firmly believe in the future of Mansfield and its town centre and hope that our investment will encourage others to follow suit.”

A spokesman for the retailer said: “Martin Wilkinson Jewellers has been providing a quality service to the people of Mansfield and District for over 200 years.

“This latest development is yet another indication of its desire to maintain a top quality service.

“The new store, which has been designed to provide a distinctive feminine and more relaxed shopping experience, has required a significant investment by the company - yet another indication of its commitment to Mansfield Town centre and importantly has resulted in 10 new jobs being created.”

Martin Wilkinson Jewellers was established in 1794, during the 60-year reign of George III (1760-1820).

The Jewellers has occupied four positions in Mansfield during this time, before moving to its current premises on Queen Street in 1974.

During its recent history Martin Wilkinson has survived two World Wars and during the Second World War it serviced bomber command wrist watches, essential for accurate bombing raids over Germany.
