Sgt. Barraclough takes over responsibility, not just for the Shirebrook and Scarcliffe Safer Neighbourhood policing teams, but also for Pleasley and Tibshelf.

PC Kat Newton-Jones also joins the Shirebrook and Scarcliffe Safer Neighbourhood policing teams, taking over the reins from PC Dan Saunby.

Kat has been a police officer for more than four years, where she has worked on the response team in Bolsover.

Before becoming a police officer, PC Newton-Jones was a Custody Detention Officer at Chesterfield for three years.

Since she stated on the team in January, Kat has been busy getting out on patrol, meeting local residents and community members and finding out about local concerns.

Sgt. Barraclough said: “I’m looking forward to the new role, and helping to make sure that local residents feel safe in their communities.

“My teams will continue to keep anti-social behaviour and crime low, and to target drug misuse alongside our partnership agencies. We’re here to listen to local residents about any concerns or issues they may have, so please don’t hesitate to contact us.”

The Shirebrook and Scarcliffe Safer Neighbourhood policing teams now include PC Kat Newton-Jones, PCSO Steve Cathcart and PCSO Matthew Liddy.
