Nottingham Forest striker Dexter Blackstock fined for speeding

Striker Dexter Blackstock (28), of Hall Lane, Papplewick, was caught just before noon on Saturday 11th January earlier this year.

Blackstock was charged with clocking a speed of 52mph in his Audi car on the A52 Clifton Boulevard in Nottingham, which has speed limits of 40mph and 50mph.

When his case was brought before Nottingham Magistrates’ Court, Blackstock pleaded guilty. He did not attend the hearing in person.

He was fined £130 and ordered to pay court costs of £85, plus a victim surcharge of £20. His licence was endorsed with three penalty points.

A second charge of failing to identify himself at Arnold on Wednesday 12th February as the driver of a car alleged to have been involved in an offence was withdrawn by the Crown Prosecution Service.

Blackstock signed for Forest from Queen’s Park Rangers for a seven-figure transfer fee in July 2009, and signed a new four-year contract in January 2013.

He has made 116 appearances, scoring 32 goals, but he has been plagued by injury since suffering serious knee-ligament damage in a match at Cardiff City November 2010.
