Half of the money will go towards concessionary theatre tickets for younger and older age groups of residents.

Young people aged between 14 and 24 can benefit from 50 per cent off ticket prices and older residents, aged 60 plus, can enjoy the same discount.

The remaining £2,500 will be used to commission outreach educational theatre work in particular communities of the Gedling borough, including Newstead and Bestwood Village.

Councillor John Clarke, Leader of Gedling Borough Council and Councillor Kathryn Fox, Portfolio Holder for Community Development presented the cheque to Stephanie Sirr, Nottingham Playhouse Chief Executive and Giles Croft, Artistic Director.
