Ashfield Independents and the Hucknall First Community Forum (HFCF) have both started separate bids on change.org after a consultation by Ashfield council about the future of Edgewood Pool in Hucknall, Kirkby’s Festival Hall and Huthwaite Leisure Centre.

Ashfield Independents say the plans would leave Kirkby with no leisure provision at all and mean much further traveling distances for residents in Huthwaite and Hucknall.

Coun Wilmott said Edgewood is the only council leisure facility for that part of Hucknall and closing it would impact on public health.

You can sign either or both of the petitions at www.change.org

Consultation sessions take place at: Huthwaite Leisure Centre, on August 9, from 2pm to 4pm; Festival Hall Leisure Centre, on August 10, from 6pm to 8pm; and at Edgewood Leisure Centre, on August 11, from 10am to noon.
