Mark Spencer, Sherwood MP, is encouraging all residents to get involved and support their local businesses by nominating them for the competition.

Nominations are welcome from any small or medium sized business that operate within the Sherwood Parliamentary constituency, and businesses from Hucknall are invited to take part, whether that’s a local café, a small independent shop, a butcher or a market stall, to name just a few.

Mr Spencer said: “As a local business owner in Sherwood myself, I know how tough it can be to run a small business. It requires a huge amount of time, effort, determination and resolve.

"Alongside this, the coronavirus means our small businesses have had to change and adapt to our different working practices.

"This has been a tough process but I have been so impressed by the resolve and hard work of our small business owners across the whole constituency, they have really risen to the challenge.

“I wanted to hold this competition to thank and show our appreciation for all the hard work that our small businesses owners do across our area.

“We have some exceptional small businesses right across the constituency, and I think this is a great way to show them just how much they are valued.”
