Hucknall nurse's festive fundraisers as part of London Marathon bid
A nurse from Hucknall is in training to run next year’s London Marathon.
Lucia Wardle, aged 23, will be running for the charity Sarcoma UK – a cause she is very familair with as she is a sarcoma nurse at Nottingham City Hospital.

Lucia wants to raise £2,500 in total and as part of that, she has now also launched a special Christmas raffle with several prizes donated by local people and businesses.
Prizes include a Christmas food hamper, a £20 meat voucher, a £50 beauty voucher, a family ice skating pass, play passes for Oceans of Fun and plenty more.
Ticket strips are £1 each and will be drawn on November 29.
Lucia said: “A massive thank you to everyone who has donated prizes, including Amelia Cook, Cassidy’s Butchers, Julie Lock and Nottingham Ice Arena.
"I’m so grateful for the support.”

As well as the raffle, Lucia is also taking part in another fundraising activitity – Laps For London – in Hucknall at the end of November.
She is part of the Women’s Fitness Collective (WFC) and Girls Run Club (GRC) with a number of other women who will also be running in London.
Laps For London is a 24-hour community fundraising challenge taking place from 12noon on November 28 at the Jamie Brough Pavilion on Kenbrook Road.
She said: “Our team will be working together to complete as many one kilometre laps as possible over 24 hours.
"However, we want this to be about much more than the physical challenge.
"Our aim is to bring the local community together, involve Hucknall businesses and create a fun fundraising event with stalls, activities, raffle prizes and plenty of opportunities for people to come down and show their support.
“Through WFC and GRC, we are passionate about encouraging women and girls to become more active, build confidence and find a sense of belonging through sport.
"We feel this event is a great opportunity to showcase some of the positive work happening locally, celebrate women in sport and demonstrate what can be achieved when a community comes together.
“We are currently looking to involve local businesses through sponsorship, donations, stalls and support with promoting the event.
"We would love to get as much of the Hucknall community behind us as possible.

Lucia has always been into running and joined a local running club back in February.
She has been entering the ballot for London for the past four years and this coming April she will get her chance to join the thousands pounding the streets of the capital for good causes.
She continued: "I really enjoy running and I’m really looking forward to it.”
"Training has been going well, I did the Robin Hood Half-Marathon in September and I’m keeping up with the half-marathon training distance up until January and I’ll start my official 16-week training programme up to the London race then.”
