Stefan Blachnio, general manager at The Nabb Inn, said: “These are tough times for many families out there, some are struggling to put food on the table, so we would like to help Hucknall Food Bank by collecting any food items that you are able to donate

“Every little helps.

“If you have anything of use for them, bring it to the Nabb so I can get it to this worthy cause.

"It’s a tough time that will only get tougher.

"I have time on my hands so would like to help in every way I can.

"The community spirit needs to be brought back in our lives.”

If you would like to make a donation you can take your items along to The Nabb Inn in Nabbs Lane, Hucknall, by messaging Stefan on 07446214239 or sending a message to The Nabb Inn Facebook page.

Hucknall Food Bank in Vine Terrace, Hucknall, is also looking for volunteers.

A post of the food bank’s Facebook page said: “We are struggling at the food bank as many of our volunteers, for various reasons, have had to stop helping.

"I have to have at least two people at the food bank for safety reasons and this is becoming difficult to achieve.

"As we are going into lockdown again many are going to need the services of the food bank and I don’t want to have to close it.

"Some people ring up for food but cannot necessarily come to the food bank because they are isolating and we are short of drivers.

"I need some committed volunteers who can give a few hours on Mondays, Tuesdays and Fridays to help out while we are in lockdown.

"I know this is difficult as many now have children at home to look after but perhaps if you are a student and are not going back to university, you may be able to help or know someone who can.

"Many thanks for all the donations that have been sent in.

"If you would like to help can you come to the food bank on Friday at 9.30am and I can explain what we need you to do.

"There is a lot of heavy lifting so please take this into consideration before volunteering.”
