Hucknall Whyburn Farm campaigners put best foot forward on Byron's birthday walk

Campaigners who want to protect Hucknall’s green belt from having new houses built on it joined the Byron Birthday Walk in the town to rally their cause.

Members of the Hucknall Against Whyburn Development Group walked from Market Place in the town up to Whyburn Farm – where Ashfield District Council wants to build 3,000 new homes as part of its draft local plan – where they enjoyed refreshments before heading back to town.

More than 150 campaigners joined the walk on the day.

Hucknall councillors Lauren Mitchell (Lab), John Wilmott (Ash Ind) and Kevin Rostance (Con) also attended.
