Maxine said: “I’m a little nervous about having all my hair shaved off because never before have I had what will be such a short cut.

“But at the end of the day it’s small sacrifice to make to help raise funds for such a fantastic cause.

"I’m hoping to make as much money as possible and would like to say a huge thank you to those people who have kindly contributed so far.”

Fellow Hucknall branch team member Helen Beale, who has been giving Maxine a ‘dress rehearsal cut’, added: “We are all so proud of Maxine for doing this.

"She loves her long hair so it really is a big sacrifice for her to make.

“However, like the rest of us she has been really heartened to raise such a large amount so far and hopefully there’s plenty more to come.”
