The town’s night-time scene has changed massively in the last 30 years. Much-loved pubs have been lost, with some being turned into housing, others left in disrepair and some sites used for supermarkets.
But there is no doubt these boozers hold some great memories for residents. Take a look at this list, reminisce and share your memories.
5. The Flying Bedstead, Watnall Road
The Flying Bedstead, formerly of Watnall Road, closed in 2013 and a year later was demolished to make way for a Co-op supermarket. The name of the boozer relates to the first vertical take-off aircraft made at the local Rolls-Royce factory. Objectors to the store plan wanted the public house retained but their efforts failed. 6. The Seven Stars, West Street
The Seven Stars, on West Street, closed in 2013. The Stars was a popular early stop-off en-route into Hucknall town centre at weekends for a pint and game of pool in the bar. It had a traditional layout of bar and lounge. The building has been derelict ever since it closed and has become something of an eyesore. The site is also pinpointed for housing as part of Ashfield's Local Plan. Photo: Shirley Watson

8. Portland Arms, Annesley Road
The Portland Arms on Annesley Road in Hucknall has been closed since 2019. The first and second floors have been converted into four flats and the whole building is on the market for £450,000. According to Veritas Business Sales, which is marketing the pub: “A new purchaser can either re-open and trade the ground floor as a pub themselves or offer it on lease." Photo: JPI
