The top five places people move to Ashfield from revealed

People from Ashfield know it is a great place to live – and it turns out thousands of other Brits agree.

In fact, in the 12 months to June 2019, 6,760 people moved to Ashfield from elsewhere in the UK.

That’s according to internal migration data from the Office for National Statistics, which also reveals the areas of the country where the most people are drawn to Ashfield from.

So where is the pull to Ashfield the greatest?

The most common place people arrived in the area from was Nottingham, with 1,092 arrivals in the year up to June 2019.

The second highest influx was due to 1,070 people choosing to move from Mansfield to Ashfield.

A further 420 moved over from Broxtowe, 458 from Gedling and 394 from Bolsover.

And more than 350 more people chose to move into Ashfield district from further afield in Erewash, Rushcliffe and Derby.
