Staff and residents at Jubilee Court Care Home in Nabbs Lane, Hucknall, along with other organisations were asked to write letters of thanks in honour of all the organisations who went that extra mile including the NHS staff and staff of the Jubilee Court Care Home for all the work that has saved many lives during this awful Covid-19 Pandemic.

Coun John Wilmott, ward member for Hucknall North on Ashfield District Council and a regular visitor to the home, buried the Time Capsule in the homes garden along with Babu Rongarajan, regional operations manager at Runwood Homes, which manages the care home, and other members of staff.

Coun Wilmott said: “Among those who sent messages were Ashfield District Council, the Ashfield Independents, Holgate Infants, The West of Hucknall Baptist Church, The Body Shop, Hovis, Dominoes pizza, JTF wholesale, and Howitts.

"Holgate Infants sent some sandwiches for afternoon tea at the home and JTF sent a Gazebo for the residents to sit out in the garden.

"Unfortunately the Jubilee Court Care Home lost ten residents during the start of the pandemic and two staff were ill with the virus but both recovered.

"A cream tea was served for the staff and residents in the afternoon and the residents who were no longer with them were remembered with songs including Mother of Mine, You Raise Me Up, I Will Follow Him and Pal of My Cradle Days.

“A memorial garden has been set up with a number of ornaments and finally a balloon was sent into the sky to remember all residents past and present.

“It was a very moving event that will touch the hearts of everyone and though I was not there owing to the strict rules in place at the home, I was told everyone enjoyed the afternoon tea.”
