Witness plea to Hucknall distraction burglary

The 85-year-old woman was approached at her front door by a man who said he was checking the water at the home in Hawthorne Avenue on Friday, August 28 at 10.30am.

Once inside the house, the man took cash from the woman’s purse.

Deg Sgt Lauren Morgan said: “Thankfully the victim suffered no injuries, but she is still quite shaken. Distraction burglars often prey on our most vulnerable residents, tricking their way into homes by pretending to work for an official company or asking for help to try to gain entry.”
