Work underway to improve Hucknall park and play area
Albert Street Rec in Hucknall is currently being redeveloped and relocated to further down the green space at the side of the leisure centre.
In the coming weeks four new play features will be installed along with older pieces of equipment that have been retained.

Posting on its Facebook page, Ashfield Council said: “This is just phase one of the planned improvements to the play area, which will create a larger play park.
“The play area is moving to accommodate planned future improvements to the leisure centre car park.
“Last year we asked what equipment you'd like to see there and the survey responses were clear that accessible and inclusive play equipment and spaces were needed.”
The new play features are:
- A five-point swing
- Little Bo Peep toddler climbing frame
- Accessible roundabout
- Toddler swings with cradle seats
As well as installing new play equipment and relocating the old ones, the ball court area will be resurfaced with additional side rebound fencing.
The re-surfaced multi-user games court will be accessible to all users including people who use wheelchairs with wider access path and entrances and smooth level surfacing.
