Pity taken on drug-addicted thief

Mansfield magistrates were told how Richard Place (36), of Derby Street, was caught with cannabis and amphetamine while subject to a conditional discharge for another offence.

A probation officer said Place had long-term drugs issues but was keen to engage with a drugs worker.

District Judge Diane Baker said Price had a shocking record.

Price was given ten weeks’ jail time suspended for nine months with two weeks each for the class B possession concurrently and four weeks concurrently for offending while on conditional discharge.
