A 21-year-old man died as the result of the crash, which happened on the A6002 Low Wood Road, between Nuthall and Bulwell at just after 7.30pm on Friday 17 June.

Two other people were injured in the crash, which involved a Peugeot 207 and a Subaru and occurred close to the junction with Apollo Drive.

A number of vehicles stopped at the scene, but investigators are particularly keen to speak to the drivers of a dark-coloured Renault Megane, which left the scene in the direction of Bulwell, and a DAF lorry with a white cab and plain blue curtain-sided trailer which was heading towards the A610 Nuthall Island/M1.

Detective Sergeant Ged Hazelwood said: “We can’t stress enough how important it is that motorists who saw what happened on Friday and have not yet spoken to the police make contact with us at the earliest opportunity.

“We know a number of people stopped at the scene on Friday evening, but some of those who will have had probably the clearest view of the incident left the scene shortly before the arrival of the emergency services.

“Someone has lost their life as a result of this crash, while two others have been injured. It is essential for them and their families that we can carry out the fullest investigating we can to establish what exactly happened.”

If you know who the drivers of the Renault Megane and the lorry are please contact Nottinghamshire Police on 101, quoting incident 862 of 17 June.
