Record results for improved academy

Hall Park Academy in Eastwood received record-breaking GSCE results and beat national average figures for the first time ever.

Staff at the much-improved school were overwhelmed with the pupils’ successes when they picked up their results last week.

Maths and English results were particularly strong with 63 per cent of students achieving a C grade or above in both subjects.

Figures from the top achievers at the school also improved with ten per cent of teens getting at least five A’s and A*’s.

Headteacher Stephanie Dyce said: “I am pleased to report that they surpass any previous achievements of the former school, Eastwood Comprehensive School and also exceed national average figures for the first time.

“This is a credit not only to the hard work that staff have put in during this last year, but also to the excellent attitude the students themselves have shown in preparing for these important exams.

“They should be very proud of their achievements,” added Ms Dyce.
