Save our post office!

A "MASSIVE" campaign has been launched to save the main Bulwell post office from being axed.

As the Dispatch has exclusively revealed, the post office – at present housed in the Wilkinson store next to the Market Place – is due to shut on Saturday August 13.

A buyer is urgently needed to take over the franchise, otherwise Bulwell will be left with only two sub-post offices – in Coventry Road and Hucknall Lane – to serve the entire town.

Snape Wood community leader Graham Kemp said: "The post office is very important to Bulwell.

"If it closes, there is a risk of Bulwell becoming a ghost town. It would also mean the nine people who work there losing their jobs."

Mr Kemp is seeking support in the campaign from Bulwell Labour MP Graham Allen, ward councillors and the Bulwell Vision initiative group, which is working towards regeneration of the area.
