Sculpture for Linby?

THE DECISION on whether or not Linby is to have a sculpture is still up in the air.

Plans are afoot for a sculpture to be erected on the roundabout at the end of Wighay Road and Main Street.

The Building Better Communities (BBC) project was first raised at a meeting of Linby Parish Council in November. Now it is to be discussed again at their next meeting on Monday February 9.

However ownership of the roundabout has to be clarified, and the type of sculpture, the budget required and whether the parish council are to contribute need to be confirmed before the project can proceed.

Coun Bob Brothwell, chairman of the parish council, said: "At the minute, it is a case of wait and see.""
