Stopfords staff enjoy a shave after completing Movember fundraiser

A team from Stopfords went for the big shave after growing their moustaches for 30 days and nights as part of the Movember campaign.

Over the month, the team grew their moustaches to raise awareness of prostate and testicular cancer and mental health, and collectively raised over £300.

The team, which entered the campaign under the name Debits, Credits and Moustaches, included Brian Stopford, Glen Wood, Martin Briggs, Steven Strawther, Daniel Ellis and Robbie Sinclair.

The annual event encourages men across the world to grow ‘tashes’ for charity to raise awareness of the often ignored issues of men’s health. Prostate cancer is the most common cancer in men, claiming the lives of around 10,000 men every year and Movember aims to change this.

Since it began in 2003 in Melbourne, Australia, Movember has grown to become a truly global movement inspiring more than 3 million people to participate across 21 countries.

Movember supports men’s health programmes by focusing on the awareness and education of living with and beyond cancer, staying mentally healthy and living with and beyond mental illness.

Brian Stopford, Director at Stopford Associates, said: ‘This has been a great opportunity to collectively raise money for a very good cause. The amount of support and sponsorship we have received has been fantastic and we are proud to have taken part in such an important campaign.’
