TOWN'S OWN GARDEN OF EDEN

A CORNER of Bulwell has been turned into the garden of Eden.

For staff from Nottingham company Eden Design and Creation got their hands dirty to plant 200 native trees at Sellers Wood.

The event was part of the successful Nottingham In Bloom initiative, which is designed to spruce up the city and is sponsored by Eden.

Staff took time out to plant maple, ash and holly trees to help extend the woodland, which is at the edge of the new High Wood Cemetery, off Low Wood Road, and will eventually comprise 12,500 trees.

Eden managing director Neil Walker said: “Our staff are proud to support Nottingham In Bloom’s efforts to make the city cleaner and greener.

“We hope other companies will follow suit and do their bit to help Nottingham’s bid to be recognised as one of the greenest communities in the country.”

Last year, Nottingham won the title of ‘Best Large City’ in the Britain In Bloom competition and this year, it has been invited to compete in the prestigious ‘Champion Of Champions’ category. Judges will visit the city and results will be known in September.
