TV SHOW SEARCHINGFOR HAUNTED HOMES

THE DISPATCH district is well known as an area with a rich history of ghostly tales.

From Newstead Abbey and its ‘White Lady’ legend to the eerie Annesley Hall and ghostly images seen peering from the clock tower.

Even local pubs such as the Seven Stars (pictured) on West Street in Hucknall and the Lion Revived on Robinsons Hill in Bulwell have been subject of paranormal investigations.

Now a TV company wants to hear from Hucknall and Bulwell residents who are living in fear in their own homes because of things that go bump in the night.

For London-based company Original Productions have been commissioned to make a show for Living TV about everyday families affected by the paranormal.

“What we want to do is visit normal people’s homes where there have been reports of paranormal activity,” said Martyn Black, who grew up in Calverton and is a researcher with Original.

“We don’t want to go in and carry out an investigation. We want to research what is happening and re-tell the story with reconstructions.

“Maybe some home-owners are frightened to tell people they are experiencing things like this. Perhaps they have already had a paranormal investigator go in.

“Maybe we will be able to help them. For example, we have already spoken to a couple who are so terrified by what is happening in their house they live downstairs.”

The programme hasn’t been given a title yet but, in each show, there will be a medium on hand to “assist residents in restoring peace.”

Martyn added: “In an ideal world, I would want to find a house in Nottingham with a family in need of help.

“We could then look at the house and area, find out what it was like in the past, and build a background.”

Anyone interested in taking part in the show should e-mail the production team via [email protected]. A questionnaire will then be sent out and things will progress from there.
