Nottinghamshire Police chief adds tribute after death of Prince Philip

Nottinghamshire Police say it is saddened by news of the death of the HRH Duke of Edinburgh, Prince Philip announced by Buckingham Palace, yesterday.

Buckingham Palace announced yesterday (Friday, April 10) that Prince Philip had died at Windsor Castle at the age of 99.

Nottinghamshire Police Chief Constable Craig Guildford said:

“On behalf of everyone here at Nottinghamshire Police, I offer our deepest condolences to Her Majesty The Queen and the Royal Family at this very sad time.

“We pay tribute to the life of the HRH Duke of Edinburgh, his remarkable contributions to society and the inspiration he provided to all of us as a nation, both young and old.

“As servants of the Crown it has been an honour to serve HRH Prince Philip as he stood alongside HM The Queen. We join the rest of the policing family across England and Wales in paying our respects in these solemn circumstances.”
