Branch Secretary, Ash Morley, said, “We have had amazing support from individuals and community groups across the Nottinghamshire from elected officials from Conservative; Labour; Lib Dem and Green parties.

“We are tremendously grateful for this and the acknowledgement that PCSOs have made such a fundamental positive difference to Nottinghamshire residents.

“To date, we have over 4,000 signatures on petitions and we believe this will only increase as people release the threat to communities.”

UNISON East Midlands Head of Police and Justice, Dave Ratchford, added, “This is an enormously serious situation that threatens both neighbourhood policing and intelligence gathering.

We have heard repeatedly from people who say it was an entirely different landscape in their communities before PCSOs starting developing their local policing presence.

There are genuine concerns that can be addressed here by the Commissioner seeking a Referendum to increase Council Tax to households by less than £5 per year.”
