VIDEO: Hens move in to help pensioners at Notts care home
Clipstone Hall & Lodge, on Mansfield Road, Clipstone, officially launched their HenPower project this month to help residents, communitites and older people’s charity Equal Arts and their pioneering project.
The hens have been brought to live in the care home as way of “tackling social isolation and loneliness”.

Hide AdA care home spokesman said this will give residents a new focus and developing friendships with the community.
He said: “Some of the residents have already taken their new roles as ‘henshioners’ very seriously.
“They have been feeding the hens, cleaning them out and collecting the eggs each day, and many children from local schools have been getting involved with the project.”
Newark and Sherwood MP Mark Spencer described it as a “fantastic project”.
