Myles Sketchley, 17, features on a new version of Daniel Powter’s “Bad Day” sung by the WellChild Nurse and Families choir- along with Scouting for Girls and former X-factor contenstant Josh Daniel.

The single was launched this week and will raise vital funds for sick children and their families across the country.

Myles recently met Prince Harry when he won a WellChild Award for his work to support other young people with exceptional health needs- despite having cerebral palsy himself.

He took part in the recording of the single at the famous Metropolis studios in London earlier this year as a member of the WellChild choir.

Myles said: “We had a fantastic day recording the single and it sounds really good now it has been finished. I can’t wait for everyone to hear it.”

His mother Christine Sketchley added: “By downloading the single you will be supporting WellChild’s amazing work and it would be great if as many people as possible could get a copy. Not everywhere in the country is fortunate enough to have a WellChild Nurse which can make such a difference to families like ours in helping to keep our children out of hospital and together at home with us.”

WellChild chief executive Colin Dyer said: “This single captures a unique spirit that we see time and again amongst the growing number of families caring for a child at home with exceptional health needs.

“Many work 24/7 and face daily battles to keep their children safe. Their enduring resilience and positivity is an inspiration to us all and this is what we are hoping to convey with our first ever charity single.

“A big thank you to Scouting for Girls and to Josh Daniel for giving up their time and talents to help make it work.

“Thanks also to Myles and all our WellChild choir of nurses, families and supporters for their enthusiastic contribution and to the team at Metropolis for pulling it all together.”

The project aims to raise awareness of the challenges faced by thousands of families across the UK caring for a child or young person at home with serious illness or exceptional health needs.
