VIDEO: Police searching Notts town after man is stabbed

Police have been searching bins and streets in Eastwood today after a stabbing, which left a man with serious injuries.

Officers were called to an address in Ryemere Close, at around 7.45pm yesterday (February 15) following reports of the attack.

A spokesman for Nottinghamshire Police said a 28-year-old man suffered serious injuries and is in hospital.

A man who lives on the estate, who asked not to be named, said his teenage son has been left ‘terrified by the incident’.

He said his son ran downstairs because he heard somebody shouting outside and crying for help.

And by the time they got outside there were loads of other neighbours and emergency services on the streets.

The man said: “My son doesn’t want to go outside at night anymore - hearing the shouting has left him terrified.”

No further details of the man’s injuries or condition have yet been released by police.

Officers are currently undertaking searches in South Street, Scalby Close, Rymere Close, Bailey Grove and Great Northern Road.

Broxtowe Borough Council has stated that police activity will prevent routine bin collections.

A 24-year-old mum-of-two, who has lived in the area her whole life, said the incident has left her really scared.

“We never used to have trouble like this before.

“It does seem to be getting really rough around here recently.”

This comes just days after ‘gunshots’ were reported in the town.

Police say they are investigating both incidents.

It is not yet known whether they are linked.
