VIDEO: Worksop teen’s beautiful personality shines through in Ed Sheeran video she made before she passed away from cancer

A teenager from Worksop who sadly passed away earlier this year has captured the public’s imagination with a video she made of herself whilst in hospital undergoing chemotherapy.

The video, which has been an instant You Tube hit, is now raising funds for the hospice where she spent her final days.

Fourteen year-old Emmie Jade Bennett-Price is filmed miming to Ed Sheeran’s ‘Drunk’ song, from her hospital bed.

The beautiful schoolgirl’s sense of humour really shines through as she pulls faces and acts out her take on the hit song.

Emmie was diagnosed with bone cancer in 2013 which was discovered after she fractured her shoulder doing a cartwheel at school.

After undergoing physiotherapy for the fracture a lump appeared on her arm the size of an egg, and scans later revealed that it was a cancerous sarcoma.

The plucky young school girl, who attended Wales High School, underwent two lots of chemotherapy and radiotherapy, however, sadly lost her battle with the disease this July, spending her final days with her family at Bluebell Wood Children’s Hospice.

One of Emmie’s last wishes was to become a You Tube star and have her own channel so her family posted her video online which has already had over 4,000 hits.

As well as fulfilling Emmie’s last wish, they are keen to raise money for the hospice that cared for her – so are asking supporters to spare any change they can after watching her video.

Emmie’s mum Katie Bennett said: “This is a video of Emmie while in hospital after her diagnosis last year. This is typical Emmie, always upbeat and entertaining even when she felt so ill.”

“She always wanted a YouTube channel, so if you like her video and find it entertaining please give it a like and feel free to donate to Bluebell Wood Children’s Hospice where she was treated and felt most comfortable when in pain or feeling down.”

Emma Vizor, fundraiser at Bluebell Wood Children’s Hospice said: “Emmie was such a beautiful, fun loving young lady and this video really shows her sense of humour.

“It’s great that so many people have watched it already and have donated to the hospice, but as well as raising money for us it also raises awareness of the work carried out at Bluebell Wood and all donations will go to help other families like Emmie’s who need our support.”
