WE HAVE BECOME THE FORGOTTEN TOWN

I AM absolutely appalled that, for the second year running, Ashfield District Council have given Hucknall an ugly Christmas tree (pictured). Did they think that we wouldn't notice?

They made 5 million from the sale of Wigwam Lane playing fields and we get an over-sized bush.

And don’t even get me started on the council introducing a 2 charge for pensioners to play bingo (last week’s Dispatch front page).

These are the people who fought two world wars for this country and this is the way they are repaid. I bet Ashfield District Council wouldn’t treat their own grandparents this way. Scrooge has nothing on them.

I for one think it’s time we got rid of Ashfield Council and Ashfield Homes because they have done nothing for Hucknall. We have become the forgotten town.
