The Flying Scotsman was forced to abandon its visit to Scarborough yesterday, Monday February 23, after a spring was damaged.

Having undergone a ten year multi-million pound restoration project the historic engine was due to make its inaugural run from London King’s Cross to York, via Nottinghamshire, on Thursday.

The outward journey from London is scheduled to leave at 7:40am, arriving at York at approximately 12:30pm.

It will pass through the area again on June 18 on its way back to London.
