Woman's body found in town centre

A police cordon was formed on Monday morning around Orchard House veterinary surgery on Vine Terrace, off High Street.

It is believed that the body was discovered in the surgery building.

Hucknall's police chief, Insp Sean Konsek, said: "I can confirm that a lady's body has been found in that location."

He added that forensic officers were visiting the scene.

A spokeswoman for the Under One Roof centre, which is opposite the vets' surgery, said news of the body being found had come as a big shock.

Police investigations are continuing. But the results of a post mortem concluded that the death was not suspicious.

The woman has been identified and a search of her home has been carried out. But her name has not yet been released by police.
