Woodwork carvings are an inspiration
A craftsman made an impression with his work at a meeting of the Hucknall Rotary Club.
Jack Darrington showed off wooden carvings that included birds and a pair of football boots.
The 88-year-old was a miner for the majority of his working life, however when he retired at the age of 63 he joined Newstead Carving Club and began wood carving.
President Kevin Rostance said: “Jack is a real example of what can be done with hard work and application developing new skills which have proved to be very beneficial.”
