Chance to celebrate Rio success with Ashfield stars

There will be a chance to celebrate the successes of Rio with Ashfield's Olympic and Paralympic Athletes on Saturday, 22nd October.

Between 10.30 and 11am, Kirkby’s double Paralympic gold medallist and world record breaker Ollie Hynd, along with Team GB Olympic gymnastics stars, Becky and Ellie Downie from Hucknall, will be on hand at Kirkby Plaza to interact with supporters for photographs and autographs.

Free activities will also be available from 10am until 1pm at Kirkby Plaza

Paralympics bronze medallist, Charlotte Henshaw, from Sutton, will also be in the Idlewells Shopping Centre on Friday, 28th October (10am-1pm) for photographs and autographs.

Councillor Jim Aspinall, portfolio holder for health and wellbeing at Ashfield District Council said: “This is a fantastic opportunity for the people of Ashfield to celebrate the remarkable achievements of Ashfield’s top level athletes who provide inspiration to so many people to get involved in sport and activity.”
