Edwinstowe edged past visiting strugglers Farnsfield by 17 runs in their Mansfield and District Sunday League clash, thanks largely to a decisive 5-28 by J. Dobson.

Edwinstowe had made 187 and, despite a spirited 51 by J. Smith, just managed to dismiss Farnsfield before they homed in on their target.

Second-placed Welbeck lost a couple of points when they failed to finish off Hucknall.

J. Spitza (66) and L. Cameron (60) led the way in their 186-4 total. But Hucknall held on at 152-9 for a losing draw.

Leaders Anston won at Eckington by six wickets when star man A. Perera scored 54 not out after taking 5-10 in bowling out Eckington for 125.

Mansfield Hosiery Mills scored 120 but won the day by 31 runs as they bowled out Mansfield for just 89 runs.

Glapwell’s 143-9 was not enough as visiting Sheffield Collegiate won by three wickets to stay third, now just a single point adrift of Welbeck.
