Good support came from Greg Willows (41), Ryan Buckley (31) and skipper Sam Johnson (44), while Ben Bhabra was the pick of the Papplewick bowling with 3-46.

Bhabra also shone with the bat for Papplewick, making an unbeaten 81 as he and skipper Ben Shaw (56) put on 89 for the sixth wicket.

But Daniel Blatherwick (3-49) had already ensured the home side were facing a tough ask to keep up with the run rate after early wickets and Jacob Taylor (4-21) then mopped up the lower order to leave Papplewick all out for 239.

Both sides had come into the game on the back of weekend defeats.

Hucknall lost for just the second time in the league as they went down by 31 runs at home to Cuckney.

Cuckney opener Tom Rowe made 124 and James Hawley 69 as the visitors posted 295-5 in 50 overs.

Greg Willows hit 107 in reply as he, Oliver Horlock (76), Jacob Taylor (34) and Sam Johnson (31) kept Hucknall in the run chase – only to lose their last five wickets for just 29 to be all out for 264.

Papplewick, meanwhile slumped to an eight-wicket defeat at home to Collingham & District.

Byron Hatton-Lowe made 83 for Papplewick, but no-one else reached 20 as they were all out for 162.

Pranav Pothula’s unbeaten 85 then saw Collingham home at 163-2.
