Hucknall travel to near neighbours for derby

Second placed Kimberley Institute are the hosts at Newdigate Street, hoping to return to form after falling to defeat last week.

Kimberley slipped further behind the league leading Cavaliers last week after a loss at the hands of Plumtree.

They will be hoping it was only a hiccup as they look to return to winning ways.

Martin Weightman needs 43 for 500 NPL runs at home and Dominic Brown can reach 50 wickets at Kimberley with two strikes.

Hucknall went down to an agonising one wicket defeat in the final over of their game with Farnsfieldlast week; they sit 10th with Attenborough only seven points and a game in hand behind them.

Hucknall embarrassed their hosts in this fixture last season and they will be hoping to do just the same this time.

Skipper Robin Maxwell hit an unbeaten century in that match, just 88 this time round would be enough for 500 NPL runs at his former club.

A little way down the road Papplewick and Linby welcome Plumtree to Papplewick Hall.

The home side were easily second best in their draw with Cuckney last time out, but they remain in the top half of the table in fifth spot.

A repeat of their two-wicket win against Plumtree a fortnight ago would see them rise above their opponents.

Jack Blatherwick still needs one wicket for 50 in the NPL.

Plumtree sit in fourth place after their win over Kimberley and they will be looking to keep their form going into this game; another win could see them move into second if the sides above them slip up, but they will be looking to stay in touch with the leaders at any rate.

Just below those two teams sit Wollaton, who are set to take on Farnsfield on Saturday..

The home side are sixth after their draw with Caythorpe; whilst they were well short of their target in that game, they at least did end their run of defeats.

They will be looking to return to winning ways and do the double over their opponents in the process.

Farnsfield are one of the League’s form sides at present as their dramatic win over Hucknall means they have won four of their last five matches.

Their good run has moved them into seventh place and a win this weekend would see them switch places with Wollaton.
