Notts Premier League preview: Plumtree look to consolidate top spot against Kimberley

Having jumped to the top of the table last weekend, Plumtree will look to consolidate their position at home to Kimberley Institute. It’s a clash of in-form sides, Plumtree have lost just once in the last 10 fixtures, whilst Kimberley have gone six without defeat and sit 4th, a mere 14 points behind their hosts.

Having slipped into 2nd, Caythorpe will attempt to straighten out their form dip with a visit to Radcliffe-on-Trent. The visitors have struggled in recent weeks, winning only one of those matches. Radcliffe have won their last two home games in their climb to 9th, 19 points clear of the relegation places.

West Indian Cavaliers have now won 4 straight and sit in 3rd position, 10 points behind Plumtree. They host Clifton Village this weekend, with hopes of keeping that run going. Clifton have lost their last two away matches, and find themselves in a bit of no man’s land in 8th.

Welbeck remain in fifth after getting the best of a draw at former leaders Caythorpe last weekend, and go in to the derby game with Cuckney, just 23 points adrift of Plumtree. Cuckney snapped their losing streak last time out and know a win will lift them back above Welbeck in the table.

Attenborough have lost three out of four and find themselves just outside the relegation places, 16 points above the bottom two. They host the Notts Academy, who have suffered defeat in their last two outings.

The bottom two go head to head when Ordsall Bridon visit Farnsfield, knowing the loser will face a struggle to escape the drop. Farnsfield are in the better form, having picked up almost 3 times as many points since the half way point as Ordsall. Losers of their last four fixtures, Bridon have just 11 points since the second half started.

Sunday sees the Notts Premier League T20 finals day take place at Cuckney. The first game, starting at 10:45 sees the West Indian Cavaliers take on Farnsfield. Kimberley Institute go up against Wollaton, winners of the Mapperley Sports Trophy, at 2pm, before the winners face off at 5:15 in the final.
